K A N T H A ...literally translated means patched cloth but these unique works of art are so much more...rich with history and the vibrant colors of rajasthan with a tradition dating back centuries in India and Bangladesh.  K A N T H A  is the art of making something beautiful from pieces of fabric that impart symbols, history, desire and well wishes for loved ones.  Often elaborate kanthas were made as wedding gifts with the stories weaved into the patched design.

All of our kantha bags and pillows are "repurposed" items which are well crafted with a low environmental impact. Each piece is a one of kind small work of art made by hand by the women in Rajasthan. No two pieces will ever be the same, truly vintage designs with a great stone washed finish.

We love the beautiful mixed patterns of K A N T H A designs and think you will too but we especially like the square shopper that is so versatile! Great as a bag or as a market shopper.
